Make It Monkey


Dance music as we know it today began with disco (although some might argue it came from dub reggae but that's a discussion for another day) and was a response to social issues like war, political scandal, gang violence, unemployment, and soaring crime rates with dance clubs doubling as safe havens for marginalised communities at that time.

Semantics aside, we will be exploring the magical roots of dance music itself as part of the Making It Monkey series and embark on a journey with Lionel Rizki & Oddjob where you will be reintroduced to disco properly (none of that Europop ABBA shit mmkay) and all its modern reinterpretations.Just like the music, keep an eye out for a special menu as some creative Monkeys take over our menu for a fresh mix!
